  • Aydin's Journey with CHAOS

    Aydin

    Aydin spent nearly the entire first year of his life in the hospital. Born with a rare disorder called CHAOS, he was not able to breathe on his own. His parents credit CSH with giving their baby a chance to live and grow and giving them the confidence they needed to care for him.

  • Chelsea

    Chelsea

    Chelsea’s mom knew something was terribly wrong and was persistent in finding the cause of her child’s health rapidly deteriorating. A mass was found on Chelsea’s brain and she battled back from flatlining in the hospital. At CSH, her parents learned the skills they needed to care for Chelsea at home.

  • Nyla

    Nyla

    Nyla was born with with Lissencephaly, a rare condition that affects only 1 in 100,000 babies. Children with Nyla's condition are usually associated with complete mental disability and Nyla is considered Grade 1, the most severe. Since coming to CSH for expert care, she has defied the odds and made incredible progress.

    Nikos

    Nikos was born with Spina Bifida and his parents were told he would never walk or even be able tn use the bathroom on his own. Just one day after is birth, he underwent surgery to repair the hole in his spine. His parents brought Nikos to CSH for consistent outpatient therapy and Nikos’ progress defies all the odds.

    LJ

    LJ experenced a traumatic brain injury when he was just seven months old. On a walk with his grandmother and cousin, the three were struck by an out-of-control car that jumped the curb. After three weeks recovering in the NICU, LJ entered the Brain Injury Program at CSH New Brunswick where he re-learned how to roll, crawl, stand and walk.

    Isaac

    Isaac suffered a spinal cord injury during cheer practice when he landed on his head during a flip. Instantly paralyzed below his neck, Isaac was rushed to the hospital where he spent thee weeks recovering. He arrived at CSH and received therapies that helped him move his arms, care for his mental helth, and a custom wheelchair to give him back some independence.

    Colbie

    Colbie was a micropreemie weighing just over one pound. Her twin brother, Bennett passed away just two days after they were born, but Colbie kept fighting. She underwent seven sugeries in the first few months of her life before finally going home with her parents. She wasn’t reaching milestones but that all changed when her parents found CSH.

  • Mekhi

    Mekhi

    Mekhi’s mom brought him to CSH for an early developmental screening at two years old when she noticed that he was not speaking, sensitive to loud noises, walking on his tip toes, and running away in public settings. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, CSH gave Mekhi the care skills he needed to learn, grow, and interact with his classmates.

    John Ryan

    John Ryan’s parents noticed that he coudn’t hold his head up at two months old. Concerned that he was not achieving this important milestone, his parents brought him to the doctor where it was discovered that he had a rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder. His parents brought him to CSH to help him strengthen his muscles and allow him to achieve greater mobility.

    Alexander & Ezekiel

    The Enriquez brothers have both been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Their mom, Monica, is no stranger to CSH because her brother was a patient here when he was a child. She knew CSH was the absolute best place to bring her children for early intervention, diagnosis and consistent care.
